A few months ago retail giant Target unveiled their new menswear house brand Goodfellow. The label focuses on tried and true staples like henleys, top coats, chinos and dark denim. Think of it as a poor man’s J.Crew…and by looking at some of the media they released, it appears as if that’s exactly what Target was going for with this line.
Style Violation – Dad Style – Fall Casual Edition
Dad and style. Two words that are not exactly synonymous with each other. For many of us dad style invokes images of polyester shirts, baggy, super relaxed fit Wranglers and Nike Air Monarchs.
Some of us may have been lucky enough to have Don Draper as a style role model but for a vast majority it was more likely Jerry Seinfeld.

Style Violation: The Square Toe Shoe
Trends come and trends go and sometimes, like an unwanted house guest, they just never leave.
Sometime in the mid 90’s the square toe shoe arrived and never left. Pushed by designers like Steve Madden, Stacy Adams and pretty much every major shoe brand they became an American footwear staple.
To be honest the square toe can’t even be considered a trend at this point. Just an abhorrent style choice.
Summer Drink Recipe: The Mojito
Summer is in full swing and a personal pastime for myself is concocting my favorite patio friendly libation: The Mojito.
Considered the national cocktail of Cuba, the Mojito has a long and disputed history. This Wikipedia page sheds some light on it’s history:
“Some say the drink was developed in the 1500’s when the famed explorer Sir Francis Drake landed in the city of Havana in order to sack the city of its gold. While the invasion was unsuccessful, an associate of Sir Francis Drake, named Richard Drake, created an early version of the mojito called ” El Draque ” out of aguardiente ( a crude form of rum,) sugar, lime, and mint. Others say the drink was invented by African slaves working in the Cuban sugar cane fields.”
For me personally the love affair with this drink began nearly 20 years ago after a visit to La Bodeguita Del Medio in Puerto Vallarta, México.
